Early Years Foundation Stage

At Hady Primary school we believe all children should be welcomed into a nurturing and inspiring environment with supportive and caring practitioners.

The children in our early years foundation stage (EYFS) will leave Reception as well rounded individuals who have gained the skills to be independent, inquisitive and healthy in mind and body. By embracing all our children and their varied experiences, we hope to support and grow their hearts and minds within our provision.

Our EYFS children will be provided with engaging and thought provoking learning experiences to help develop their knowledge and skills. This is achieved within our environments including our indoor and outdoor provision, as well as carefully planned adult-led tasks. The children will be supported through their learning development by trained professionals, who care greatly for the children in our school.

By following the EYFS 'development matters', we ensure that our children are provided with stimulating, age and stage appropriate tasks. These will be designed to meet the curriculum statements from development matters 2021 with the goal of all children meeting early learning goal by the end of Reception to prepare them for the national primary curriculum in Year 1 and beyond.

The areas of the EYFS development matters are:

  • communication and language
  • personal, social and emotional development
  • physical development
  • literacy
  • maths
  • understanding the world
  • expressive arts and design
