Outdoor Play and Learning

Hady Primary School is an Outdoor Play and Learning (OPAL) school. We believe that all children need opportunities to play that allow them to explore, manipulate, experience and affect their environment. We are part of the OPAL Primary Programme and this helps us to:

  • provide varied, challenging and stimulating play areas
  • allow children to take risks that are managed with a common-sense approach
  • give the children the chance to develop relationships
  • enable the children to develop respect for their surroundings and each other
  • aid our pupils' physical, emotional, social, spiritual and intellectual development
  • encourage exploration and imaginative play
  • provide environments that support learning
  • promote independence and teamwork
  • build emotional and physical resilience in Hady pupils

Hady pupils love OPAL playtimes and we love how well they develop through play.
